Unique darting gun harpoon from the Robert Hellman whalecraft collection. Mr Hellman's resaerch described this iron made for use by Alaskan the inuit/eskimo trade which adapted to certain types of whaling equipment. Purportedly made by the Naval Gun Company of PA. Brass head. New contempoary 20th century never used. A very different example of a darting iron to add to any whalecraft collection. Lenght approx. 39". item wh2602
