Rare temple style toggle harpoon for a Greener gun. The temple-type toggle head makes it an extremely rare 19th century whaling harpoon. You generally see standard-type toggle head harpoons made for a Greener gun. Marked clearly on one side SB for starboard boat. Other side unclearly marked SB, possible for name of whaling vessel. Provenance: Barbara Johnson and then the Robert Hellman (REH083) whalecraft collections. Lenght: 43.5". Condition good used condition as expected for age. item wh2601
